AAAAAA (6A) Ceremonial Grade Matcha in Bangladesh
Our 6A is the highest grade in the Matcha BD range. Sourced from Hangzhou, China, it is made from young, first-harvest shade-grown leaves selected specifically for ceremonial preparation. It is designed to be drunk plain, whisked with water alone, where the full character of the grade can be appreciated without milk or sweetener masking it.
What sets ceremonial grade apart
Ceremonial grade matcha accumulates more L-theanine during the shading period before harvest than lower grades. This L-theanine is what produces the natural sweetness that distinguishes a good ceremonial grade from a culinary one. The bitterness is minimal. The colour is a vivid, almost luminous jade green. The finish is smooth with a lingering umami depth that culinary and premium grades do not fully replicate.
If you have only ever had matcha in a latte, this grade drunk plain is a noticeably different experience.
Key details
- Grade: AAAAAA (6A) Ceremonial
- Origin: Hangzhou, China
- Net weight: 30g
- Best for: Traditional preparation with water only, plain drinking, experienced matcha drinkers
Ingredients
100% matcha (Camellia sinensis leaf powder). No additives, no sugar, no flavourings.
How to prepare
Sift one teaspoon into a wide ceramic bowl. Add 60 to 70 ml of warm water at 70 to 75 degrees Celsius. Whisk in a W motion for 20 to 30 seconds until smooth and frothy with a fine, persistent foam. Drink immediately from the bowl.
Using water above 80 degrees makes any ceremonial grade bitter. Temperature matters more with this grade than with any other.
Storage
Keep sealed in an airtight container away from light and heat. Refrigerate after opening. Best within 4 to 6 weeks of opening. Let the sealed tin reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation on the powder.
